Article 1 – Definitions
In these general terms and conditions, the following definitions apply:
- Foundation: Stichting Salaam Foundation, legally registered in Sittard-Geleen.
- Volunteer: a person who performs unpaid work for the Foundation.
- Donor: a natural or legal person who donates money or goods.
- Services: all activities carried out by the Foundation in support of its humanitarian objectives.
- Parties: the Foundation and any natural or legal person who directly or indirectly makes use of or is involved in the activities of the Foundation.
Article 2 – Objective of the Foundation
The Foundation aims to:
- provide humanitarian aid in poor countries, particularly Afghanistan;
- distribute food, clean drinking water, shelter, education, and other basic necessities;
- support projects that promote self-reliance;
- raise awareness of humanitarian issues.
The Foundation is a non-profit organization.
Article 3 – Applicability
These general terms and conditions apply to all activities, services, collaborations, donations, and other relationships with third parties.
Deviations from these terms and conditions are only valid if agreed upon in writing.
Article 4 – Liability
The Foundation is only liable for direct damages resulting from intent or gross negligence by its board members.
The Foundation accepts no liability for indirect or consequential damages.
Volunteers act at their own risk; the Foundation bears no responsibility for personal injury, loss, or damage.
Article 5 – Volunteers
Volunteers are expected to comply with the rules of conduct and instructions issued by the board.
The Foundation reserves the right to terminate the cooperation with any volunteer at any time in cases of misconduct or incompatibility with the Foundation’s objectives.
Article 6 – Donations and Spending
All received donations will be used for the purposes of the Foundation as outlined in its statutes.
The Foundation will maintain transparency in the use of funds through annual reports and/or financial statements.
Donations are irrevocable and cannot be reclaimed.
Article 7 – Data Protection
The Foundation processes personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Personal data will be used exclusively for purposes consistent with the mission of the Foundation.
Article 8 – Amendments to the Terms
The Foundation reserves the right to amend these general terms and conditions.
Amendments will be published on the website and take effect on the date of publication.
Article 9 – Governing Law and Disputes
These general terms and conditions are governed exclusively by Dutch law.
Disputes will be resolved amicably in the first instance; if no resolution is reached, disputes will be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands.
